On The Hill Climb

The Wolfstone Hill Climb, which runs just short of a mile, is the centrepiece to this great Festival.

Hillclimbing is one of the oldest forms of motorsport in the UK, for which Yorkshire has a proud and established heritage with Holme Moss hosting races of this type over 100 years ago.

We celebrated this at the Festival opening in 2021 and, for 2022, 3 local famous cars, the Famous Three will open the Hill Climb course on Friday and Saturday morning.

We are pleased to welcome back the Mid Derbyshire Motor Club to again organise the running of the Wolfstones Hill Climb which is a Motorsport UK licensed event.

The Motorclub celebrated their 70th Anniversary in 2020 and have been involved in many motorsport events, from grass roots Autotesting to Stage Rallying and Hill Climb events, most being part of various regional championships.

Chairman of the Club, Lee Burgess, said: “We were very happy to have achieved the opening of the Event this year in very challenging Covid times. We are in advance planning for next year and look forward to welcoming you all to this spectacular event in June 2022.”

75 cars will compete over 3 days of spectacular fun.  Make sure you are at the start line to see the Famous Three.

Hill Climb

With the Covid restrictions that were enforced in 2021, we were unable to erect the spectator platforms that we’d planned but hopefully in 2022, with Covid restrictions eased, we’ll  have these installed along the finishing line.  This will enable spectators to view over the walls and catch all the finish line action.

Please note there is a 5m restricted area from the edge of the course.  These will be clearly marked and fenced to ensure spectator safety.

For everyone’s safety it’s important that NO children and NO adults enter this area.

There are great viewing points at multiple locations around the course. Please see the site plan and follow the signs to these spectacular viewing points.

Please do not enter restricted areas which are clearly marked.

Please also note the woods are a restricted area and therefore out of bounds for spectators.

Motorsport is a dangerous sport which is why the safety of spectators, participants and marshals is paramount.  We therefore ask that everyone adheres to the rules that we’ve set out – particularly with regards to staying away from restricted areas.  These are restricted for everyone’s safety.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
